After attending a conference titled “The Re-generated Man; I decided to put pen on paper to pour down my thoughts based on the discussed subject matter.

The Chambers Dictionary defines the term ‘regeneration’ as having been regenerated, especially in having improved morally, spiritually or physically - basically Body, Spirit and Soul.

As I reflected on this definition, I began to think about the younger generation of men and their future. Will they have the privilege of attending life improving conferences in the near future?

What legacy are we prepared to leave for them that would have a lasting impact on their lives.

Where are the fathers, mentors and leaders that are supposed to take the position of role models?

The current state of society highlights a great deficiency in these areas. Parents and Teachers have been robbed of the rights to discipline which has led to a reversal of roles as students are now telling teachers what to do!

Many of the young men today are being brought up in families where fathers have neglected their responsibilities to their wives and children.

The importance of guiding the younger generation by being effective role models is reinforced in the Book of Titus - Chapter 2 verses 6 - 8:

Similarly, encourage the young men to be self-controlled. In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.

If we want the younger generation to act in godly ways, we have to be sure that we are godly in our words, thoughts and deeds. Then we will earn the right to be heard, and our lives will reinforce what we teach.
